Always under construction, Ad Age Best Places to Work agency, three years running, taps performance media expert with rare CMO experience. Ram Singh is the next key piece of a diverse, seasoned C-Suite fortified over the past year by the additions of a COO, CSO, Chief People Officer and Head of Investment.
NEW YORK__September 27, 2022— Crossmedia, the global independent media agency network, has hired Dr. Ram Singh as its first Chief Performance Media Officer to lead all of the agency’s performance media and performance analytics functions. Ram’s charge from U.S. CEO, Kamran Asghar, is to be a catalyst for further innovation of Crossmedia’s distinct approach to media which features a nimble, consultative approach towards maximizing client outcomes driven by omnichannel solutions, media neutrality, and a rich application of advanced analytics. This ethos has flourished and fed the agency’s current growth trajectory.
With over two decades of experience in performance media, Ram previously spent the past seven years as the Chief Analytics and Product Officer at Publicis’ Performics unit. Prior to that, Ram held several C-Suite roles including Chief Marketing Officer at Brandman (Chapman University System), a leading educational institution, as well as stints at Sprint, AOL, and IBM. Ram’s work on cross-channel performance optimization has been featured by multiple industry publications, and his numerous accolades include the prestigious PMW Performance Pioneer – 2022 Executive of the Year award.
“At Crossmedia we have always believed that all media is performance media. Ram brings a more versatile, broader perspective to performance media than most performance professionals, which enables him to drive the kind of meticulous intra-channel expertise needed to effect positive business outcomes for our clients.” says Kamran Asghar, Crossmedia U.S. CEO and co-founder. “As a former CMO, he has an intimate understanding of how creative, media and analytics blend together. He will work hand in hand with our Redbox Business Intelligence and integrated marketplace buying teams to drive both brand messaging and conversions.”
“I have moved through my career by consciously developing both my left brain and right brain,” said Ram. “With the current growing movement to rebundling media and creative as the optimal paradigm to meet the challenges of this unprecedented era of media fragmentation and technological innovation, performance media specialists need to expand their skill sets. As a community, we need to widen the previously narrow aperture through which we have traditionally viewed the business.”
Ram’s arrival caps off a meaningful year of strategic C-suite additions to accelerate post-pandemic growth in 2022 and beyond. Other pivotal additions were Christine Merrifield-Wehrle as the agency’s new Head of Investment; agencyland veteran Anne Bologna as Chief Strategy Officer, Kristen Metzger as the agency’s first Chief People Officer, and the naming of long-tenured Crossmedia exec, Ali Plonchak, to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Ali along with Lee Beale, who built and leads Crossmedia’s Redbox Intelligence unit, were also recently made Managing Partners. This executive team comprises one of the most diverse in the entire industry including a C-Suite that is 43% female and 43% BIPOC.
